In your studies of modules 9 to 12, you learned about important Human Resources topics like training, communication, performance management, and employee evaluations.  The purpose of this assignment is to help you understand how research is conducted and reported in the Hospitality Industry for Human Resources related topics.  

You are asked to find and read a peer-reviewed article from industry journals in the topic of Employee Performance Management or Leadership Development in the Hospitality industry.  

In this assignment, you will present a summary in your own words of your journal article review.  Please note that this is not a question and answers type of submission.  It should include a title page, be at least two pages long, and include a reference page.  To guide your article summary submission, it MUST comply with all requirements listed and address ALL of the following questions:

  1. Requirements

    1. Your Scholarly/ Peer Reviewed/ Journal articles MUST be about either Employee Performance Management in the Hospitality Industry or Leadership Development in the Hospitality Industry.
      • If you have questions regarding what is a scholarly article, a peer-reviewed article, or a journal article, please watch the following video to assist you.
    2. The article MUST be published after January 1, 2010. The more recent the better in terms of relevance for you as a leader. 
    3. You must submit an electronic pdf version of the article along with the assignment.  Please do not send me a link, 50% of the grade will be deducted if the article is not attached.
    4. You will be submitting your paper twice.  Once in this Canvas’ assignment submission box with the PDF article attached, and also into Turnitin via the Canvas Turnitin submission link.  Make sure you check the results and make any necessary adjustments.  Don’t forget that one of the measures of plagiarism is the Turnitin analysis percentage of 25% or more without proper citations. 
  2. Summary – With the exception of listing your article information, the article MUST be in your own words.  Copy/paste “cited” information from the article will not be accepted.

      • Why are the results or information gathered important?
      • What is your opinion on the value of the study?
      • How will this study further your knowledge of the selected topic (performance or leadership)?
      • How can you apply these findings to your future leadership roles?
      • How does this knowledge influence your current or future behavior?
