By now, most criminal justice students should be aware of the civil unrest across our nation surrounding racism, and as a result, many agencies, businesses, universities, etc. are requiring participation in anti-racism, unconscious bias, and similar training designed to heighten awareness of racial/ethnic bias which advances the dialog and solution for social justice. Unfortunately, racism has played a significant role in our nation’s history, more than some people would like to acknowledge. As a criminal justice student and hopeful future criminal justice employee, provide some evidence-based proposals about interventions that might be developed within the criminal justice system as a strategy to reduce racism in our communities, within the ranks of public service employees (in the police, courts and corrections), and even within our institutions (courts, jails, prisons, etc.)?
