RESPONSE JOURNAL The response journal is meant to be an opportunity to reflect, in a well-developed paragraph, on one aspect of one of our readings for a given week; please write 10 responses. You might choose a scene, a symbol, a descriptive passage or a piece of dialogue that you find intriguing and would like to analyze. Since the response will only be a paragraph in length, you will need to keep your topic limited and your focus sharp. Think of this as an opportunity to share an insight or to demonstrate your analytical skills; rather than making a broad, vague generalization about the work, try to give your reader a clear understanding of a very specific aspect of the work – one that you find interesting, meaningful, or perhaps problematic. FOLLOWING TEXTBOOKS ARE TO BE USED FOR THE JOURNALS: Jane Austen: Pride and Prejudice (Oxford) William Shakespeare: Twelfth Night (Dover) Oscar Wilde: The Importance of Being Earnest (Simon & Schuster)
