ENGL 150 Introduction To Literary Genre

Essay 3 is worth 25 percent of your final grade. It should serve as a vehicle for analyzing a text/texts covered in the term. The essay (approximately in length) will require you to demonstrate your ability 1) to summarize, analyze, synthesize and/or evaluate (SASE) the PRIMARY text(s), not only at the what-level, but also at the how- and why-levels; 2) to conduct research and summarise, analyze, synthesize, and/or evaluate (SASE) ideas from at least THREE secondary sources compiled from the LIBRARY DATABASES; 3) cite the primary/secondary sources both in-text and in a Works Cited list in adherence to MLA STYLE; 4) to express your findings using clear, concise, grammatically accurate writing; and 5) to implement the various elements and formatting rules of the research-supported analytical essay.
