Use the following link to research artwork in museums throughout the world: https://artsandculture.google.com/
Select the theme for your exhibition and create a title for that exhibit. The title should intrigue the viewer and give an indication of the theme. You can have fun with it too.
Start your paper with your curator’s statement about your theme. For example: it might be your interest in a particular historical era, or period of art that you have studied, i.e. “The Figure in Classical Greek Art”. It might be a way to connect art with another interest of yours, i.e., “Animals in Art”. It might be about a medium that you like, i.e., “Digital Technology in Art Today”, or a trend that you have noticed, “Artists who use Fabrics in Their Work”. Talk about your theme and what you are trying to ‘say’ with this exhibit. What interested you in this idea? Does it relate to another area of interest in your life? Does it say something about the world that you are interested in, or thinking about? Do you have a love of a particular medium or period? Why?
Choose a minimum of 5 artworks to include in your show. They may be historical, contemporary, or a combination.
Discuss each piece individually. Include the following information
Artist, (In prehistoric times and, often, in ancient through medieval times the individual artist is unknown.
Indicate this.) Title; Date; Medium; Scale
The museum that you are ‘borrowing’ the work from
What period/movement does the piece represent? Give the reader some information on that period/movement.
Is it historical or contemporary? Contemporary refers to relatively recent work that deals with current issues. What are some of the significant characteristics of the art of that era?
Describe: the formal visual elements and principles of design used to construct the artwork.
Describe the materials/media used to create the work. How were they handled? Why do you think the artist chose the particularmediumhe/she/they did? How does the choice of medium, scale, & other visual elements help to construct the meaning of the work?

What isthe content, oridea, behind the work(s)?
How are you organizing the work in the exhibit? Number the works in the order that you want the viewer to see theme, i.e., 1, 2, 3 etc. Why did you put one work next to the other? How does the relationship of one work to another enlarge the understanding of your theme?
Summarize how these works together are intended to enlarge the viewer’s understanding of your theme.
