Rhetorical Precis and Annotated Bibliography

 

Objective: Practice summarizing evidence and conclusions of academic articles in the rhetorical précis format
in order to, ultimately, compose an annotated bibliography using sources that pertain to a topic related to your
major.
Read the “Rhetorical Précis” and “Annotated Bibliographies” sections of Chapter 4 of your textbook.
The précis section explains what a précis is and how to develop a précis from a research source.
The annotated bibliography section explains how to organize your work into a bibliography and how to format
citations for your sources.

You will eventually write a research paper on a timely, trending topic in your field. This paper will require at
least four sources to evidence your arguments.
When selecting sources, search for articles/essays that relate to a topic you might want to write about for your
research paper.
Be careful in your selection so that you can use these sources for your research paper later.
Compose a rhetorical précis for each of your sources.
