Thesis: The story of the first Thanksgiving

The First Thanksgiving
Thesis: The story of the first Thanksgiving traditionally taught in American public schools leaves out vital information about what really happened between the Pilgrims and native Americans on that day. Although the first Thanksgiving was held by the Pilgrims to celebrate a successful harvest and the Wampanoag Tribe was in attendance, that is hardly the whole story. Native Americans were at the festival because they were investigating after hearing the celebratory guns and cannons being shot off by the Pilgrims. We are taught that turkey is the centerfold of this holiday and that it was consumed by the Pilgrims and native Americans on this day, but theres no evidence to prove thats true! Turkeys were in abundance in Massachusetts in the 1600s but so were lobsters and deer.
