Objective
This assessment will demonstrate your understanding of the knowledge required to within work legal and
ethical parameters in professional nursing practice, including supporting rights and meeting duty of care
requirements. The essay relates to your current level of knowledge/skills that you can legally/ethically apply
in practice during your aged care placement.
1. The student is required to write an 800 word essay explaining how on their practical placement they were
able to work within the legal and ethical parameters that apply to professional nursing. Students must identify
two situations, document these and indicate why the need to document them plus where and how they
documented the situations. The essay requires evidenced based references which will be displayed in the
essay using Harvard Reference style and accompanied by a reference list (no less than 5 appropriate
references). To be submitted one week following completion of aged care practical placement.
