Choose one:
1) Franz Kafka is known for writing absurd stories. Choose one of his stories and discuss Kafka’s use of absurdism in the context of Abrams’s glossary definition (on pp. 1-2 in A Glossary of Literary Terms).
OR
2) Chose one of Anton Chekhov’s stories and discuss how it is a story of character wherein, as Abrams describes, the focus is “on the state of mind and motivation, or on the psychological and moral qualities, of the protagonists” (Abrams, 1999, p. 286).
