Improvement Approaches in Health Care Settings
Health care organizations by their nature must constantly strive to improve patient care. Many different approaches to improvement have been utilized over the years. In this discussion you critically evaluate a number of these historical and contemporary approaches and consider what is most effective. You then apply those approaches to your case study and analyze the effect they might have had on the outcome of that case.
To prepare for this Discussion complete the readings in your Learning Resources.
Review this weeks Learning Resources specifically Grol (2001).
Post by Day 4 a description of two historical and/or contemporary approaches to quality improvement you feel would be most effective to improve health care quality and safety. Then evaluate how these approaches could be applied to the case study you identified in Week 1. Finally analyze how adapting these approaches might have altered the outcome in that case study.
