Like Walt Whitman, Hughes has also been described as a “Confessional Poet.” Hughes has also been described as and a “Blues Poet.” To what extent would you agree, as Hughes is reported to have once done or said, that the “Harlem Poet Laureate” was, indeed, the “Literary Grandson” of Whitman?
