My father had Alzheimer’s disease and died eight years after his diagnosis. So he did not get better. The plack, which is typical for Alzheimer’s disease, totally destroyed his brain. He said his illness didn’t hurt, so that was at least positive. He eventually went in his sleep one late evening between 10:30 p.m. and midnight. No one was with him, he just quietly slipped away. In a way a good death considering how his last eight years had been, becoming more and more forgetful, having fewer and fewer cognitive skills, and not always knowing who we, his family, were.

Now to your question, can you get better with Alzheimer’s? Well, theoretically I think you can, if you can stop or reverse inflammation in your body. Chronic inflammation can evetually result in three more serious conditions: Alzheimer’s disease, cancer, and diabetes.

My father had lower back pain for years before he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.

He always complained about aches and pains. The doctors said it was ischias. I don’t know. This was in the eighties.

Inflammation can be caused by many things. Sometimes the doctors say they don’t know, so they talk about idiopathic conditions, autoimmune diseases, etc. Sounds good, doesn’t it?

But I believe everything that happens in the body has a true case, but we’re so busy treating the symptoms. With medicines we can treat the symptoms, but they don’t take away the cause. Imagine this: You are feeling thirsty, so you go to the doctor and say, “Doc, my mouth is so dry.” The doctor prescribes a drug that takes away the dryness in your mouth, you take it and it works. But you haven’t really fixed the problem. What you should have done was to drink water!

I’m not a doctor, but I have studied nutrition extensively in the last decade.

We all know we should eat healthy, but if you ask people what constitutes a healthy diet you’d get a variety of answers.

Even though we have access to more and better foods than a hundred years ago, how we produce much of it these days has made it more dangerous, pesticides, lack of nutrients, too much sugar, too much omega 6, etc. Personally I think too much omega 6 is responsible for a lot of the inflammation. Cut down on meat that is not grassfed and omit all vegetable oil that is not natural. You’re left with butter, olive oil and coconut oil. Go back to eating like a hundred years ago, before we had all these dangerous vegetable oils, and chances are we also see a drop in Alzheimer’s disease, cancer, and diabetes.

What, you may ask, is it that easy? Yes, it is.
