In a 4-6 page essay, respond to the following question. Remember, in order to receive a passing grade you must meet the minimum requirements. This assignment will require outside sources and a works cited page, follow MLA and essay format.
[1] This assignment will measure your ability to apply three theoretical lenses to A Doll’s House by Henry Ibsen and A Vindication for Women’s Rights by Mary Wollstonecraft.
Feminist and Historicism are two theoretical approaches, which can frame the analysis of both the play by Ibsen and the essay by Wollstonecraft. Although the essay was written in the 1792, you can see many historical and social critiques of patriarchal notions of womanhood. These beliefs, Wollstonecraft argues, are used to justify the oppression of women.
As a self-identified male writer, Ibsen writes a play that is critical of such gender oppression. We follow Nora throughout the play and witness her oppression and later her “awakening.”
In a four to six pages essay address the following prompts:
1.What role does the concept of the “Gaze” play in the narrative of Ibsen’s work?
2.What value does a Historicism-lens offer to the analysis of the play? Make sure to include Wollstonecraft in this task
3.What value does a Feminist-lens offer to the analysis of the play?

I uploaded here the link for the Doll House reading. I will attach the reading for Vindication of Women’s Rights as a file upload. I will also upload feedback my instructor gave me from my last essay so this essay can be better than the last one. I also put in this text the grading rubric she wants for the essay. Please reach out to me if you have any questions or need anything from me!
